Lots of news about films I recently shot!
First on, Urban Traffik (dir. Jason Figgis, Prod. Bank House Productions) will screen at the Underground Cinema Film Festival Dublin on 11 September at 1.15pm . Details here.
Another film screening at the same festival is “Little One“, Starring Clelia Murphy, Directed by Ferdia Mac Anna and produced by Richard Kearney. “Little One” was also shown at The Transylvania International Vampire and Arts Festival a few months ago. Pretty cool for a vampire short. 🙂 Come see it on 9th September at 1.30pm. Tickets here.
Another short screening at this festival is “The Fireman and The Nurse” (9th Sept 11.00am, tickets). Starring Bairbre O’Toole and Tony Murphy. What was great about this is half of the crew met on a Filmmaking Course in The Irish Film Academy a few years ago, Director Gemma Doorly, Producer Ronan Murphy, myself as DP and Ciaran Hurley on Lighting.
Check out this article about the film in Film Mayo.
In other news, Darren Travers won best actor at the Starburst Film Festival in London for ‘Don’t You Recognise Me?‘ which I shot. Directed by Jason Figgis and produced by Bankhouse Productions and also feature myself in there being scared to death for most of the running time. 🙂
I also shot 3 short films for The Irish Film Academy: Strangers, Fine and Be Happy. Strangers was shown in the student showcase of this years Galway Film Fleadh!
In June I was B-cam operator on a video for Cycle Ataxia. A charity cycle for a great cause. I got to shoot from the top of a crane that had been used in Game of Thrones. Ok, not a big deal, but I’m taking it. 🙂
Anthony Downes was A-cam operator and editor.
